DETAILED ITINERARY - DAY BY DAY

Day 1 Amarbayasgalant Monastery

After you picked up from your accommodation, we will drive to Amarbayasgalant monastery, which is the second largest monastery in Mongolia, is located in the beautiful Iven Gol river valley on the foot of Burenkhaan Mountain in Baruunburen town of Selenge province. Hiking in and around the monastery and take some good pictures. Amarbaysgalant monastery was established by order of Manju emperor king Enkh- Amgalan Khan built between "1727-1736" for giving respect to his teacher Undur Gegeen Zanabazar.  It is an excellent place to enjoy the Buddhist cultural heritages of Mongolia. Overnight in a ger camp.(L+D)

Day 2 Uran togoo volcano

Today we’ll drive to Uran togoo. Its about 60 kilometer directly west of Bulgan city is the extinct volcano of Uran Uul and nearby Togoo Uul, now part of the 1600 hectare Uran Togoo-Tulga Uul natural reserve in the village of Khutag-Ondor. Trial to the top of the relatively unimpressive volcano lead up from the west side, which also have some nice camping areas. The Uran Togoo-Tulga Uul national monument is a national protected area in the Bulgan province. This mountain ranks as 4th highest mountain and its protected in 1965. In 1995, it was designated as a monument by Parliament Resolution with an area of 5800 hectares. Overnight in a Ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 3 Khovsgol lake

Early in the morning we will drive to great Khovsgol lake. The lake is the second fresh water lake in Asia and second large lake in Mongolia with its 136 km long and 36 km wide and 264 meter deep. It is second in Asia and 14th largest in the world. Khuvsgul Lake contains 93.6 % of total surface fresh water of Mongolia and 1% of world fresh water. Khuvsgul Lake is surrounded by beautiful high mountains of the Khoridol Saridag and Bayan Mountain Ranges, along the west shore. Many mountain rivers flow into this lake including 17 rivers flowing during the whole year. Overnight in a Ger camp.(B+L+D)

Day 4 Khovsgol lake & Horse riding

This day is no driving, relaxing and will do horse riding or hiking around the Lake “Khovsgol”. I is  one of the natural wonders of the world. This mountain covers an area of 2760 square kilometres, and its water is so pure that we can drink it ! It's surrounded with many peaks culminating at more than 2000 metres and covered with forests of pines and lush meadows where yaks and horses graze !Overnight in a Ger camp. (B+L+D)

 

Day 5 Shine Ider village – Ider river

Today we will head to Terkh white lake. But we will stop driving on the way in a Nomad’s Family to exchange the experience of their lifestyle. Overnight in a nomad’s Family.(B+L+D)

Day 6 Terkh White Lake

After breakfast we will drive to White lake(Terkh). The lake was formed by lava flows from a volcanic eruption many millennia ago This is 2060m a.s.l, 16 km long, 4-10 km wide, 20 m deep fresh water lake . This lake, called "the great white lake", and its whole volcanic surroundings, are the emblematic area of the province of Arkhangai. The waters of the lake are full of fish and it's possible to fish if you wish. Overnight in a Ger . (B+L+D)

Day 7 Khorgo volcanic crater

This day is no driving and bit relaxing day. Hike or horse trekking to the Khorgo volcano. It is the last volcano which extinct around 9000 years ago. 2240m high a.s.l. Swimming and fishing is possible for the personal interest. About 8000 years ago volcanic lava flooded the valleys nearby which are covered today with small forests of Sibirian larch and a great variety of berries and flowers. In the woods there are lots of deer, wild goat and other animals, as well as various kinds of birds such as Red Deer, Siberian Deer, Wild Boar, Ruddy Shelduck and Duck.Overnight in a Ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 8 Tsenher hot spring

After breakfast we will drive to the Tsenher Hot Spring. The SPA is +86C hot. Here you will have opportunities to have bath in the healing spa. The spring consists of elements such as sulphur and calcium.Relax in the hot spa.  Also the spring is kept in high pressure under the ground flow rate is high, 10 liters per seconds. The water has high mineral content and containing everything from simple calcium, sodium to sulphuric. Folklore claimed medical value some of this springs have, they are often popular tourist destinations for Mongolian people. Overnight in a tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Day 9 Orkhon Waterfall

We will drive to Orkhon waterfall. The red waterfall is situated in historically significant  Orkhon valley, whose river flows an incredible 1120 km to the north before it joins the  Selenge  river. Also called Ulaantsutgalan, the waterfall was formed by unique combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. The waterfall formed by combination volcanic eruption and earthquakes some 20000 years ago cascades down from a height 27 meters. The Orkhon, longest river in Mongolia, begins at the state worshipped mountain Suvraga Khairkhan in the Khangai mountain range.   Overnight in a Ger camp.(B+L+D)

Day 10 Kharkhorin & erdenezuu

Today we will drive to Kharkhorin. it was built in 1235  by Ogodei Khaan , who was successor of Chingis Khaan. The foundations of Kharkhorin’s buildings are all underground and Erdene-Zuu Monastery was built to the south of  the ancient capital ruins in 1586. We will visit  Erdenezuu monastery which contains valuable items that represent Mongolian Buddhist culture. Overnight in a ger.
 

Day 11 Semi Dessert – Elsen tasarkhai

After breakfast we will drive to Semi Gobi. Will do Camel riding here. Khogno Khan mountain Natural Reserve it is about 1967m peak area. This area has unique combination of Mongolian mountain, forest and Gobi type landscape in one location. That’s why this area is called Semi Gobi by the locals. Overnight in a local nomad family. (B+L+D)

Day 12 Khustai National Park & back to UB

Today we will drive back to UB. On the way having a lunch and  will visit to Khustai NP. There you would be able to see Prjevalskii horses (wild horses). Also you will visit little natural museum and hall of guests for short video about National Park in multi language. Enjoy small hiking and photographing the charming landscape and wildlife. (B+L)
