Eagle Hometown Tour

This trip covers the Western Part of Mongolia and is especially suitable for those want to face new challenges and different experiences! There are about 10 different ethnic nomadic groups live in the area including Kazakhs.
You will travel in the landscape of eternally snow-capped peaks of the Altai Mountain as much as rivers, streams, lakes and the forest zone of Khovd, Uvs, and Bayan-Olgii provinces. A wonderful tour which will fulfill all your hopes and desires.

DETAILED ITINERARY - DAY BY DAY

Day 1 Ulaanbaatar city to Bayan-Ulgii (domestic flight)

Arrive in Ulgii, at the same day drive to Altai tavan bogd national park gate. If after 5pm will land in Ulgii, will stay at hotel in Ulgii. Aq Gol Basy means “Beginning of White river”. This is the most beautiful valley where many local Tuvan families spend their summer. This is the nice start for your vacation in Mongolian natures. Stay with Tuvan family or camp in tents next to Tuvan families depending on weather conditions.

Day 2 Drive to Altai Tavan Bogd national park gate.

After breakfast you will chill around while local Tuvans will come with their horses and camels. Your baggage will be carried by camels and you will go trekking towards Potanini glacier side. You will have the best view of Tavan Bogd peaks that include Khuiten peak (Highest in Mongolia). After lunch in the nature in your lunch boxes we will head back to the same Tuvan Family near the gate of national park. Gol Basy means “Beginning of White river”. Day 3 Drive to Khoton and Khurgan lake side

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to the Khoton lake area. This is crystal clear lakes with fresh water and beautiful views. On your way, you will visit Bal-Bal or deer stones from ancient Turkic age. At the end of the day, you will camp next to Khoton lake or stay with nomadic family.

Day 4 Visit eagle hunter family and drive to Ulgii

Visit Kazakh nomadic families. This is beautiful part of tour as you will visit colorful decorated Kazakh Ger, meet different lifestyle. After having lunch together with nomads you will do light hiking to Waterfall in Baga Turgen valley / Ikh Turgen valley (another valley east of Elekt valley). On your way you will stop to visit Eagle hunter’s family. Meet eagle hunter. See his already trained Golden Eagle, hold on your arm, you can be busy with photographing. And after late lunch drive back to Ulgii town.
