Ice festival, eagle festival and camel festival will arrange under the name of winter festival

​Come join us in March for a time of festivals! This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the festivities of local communities in Mongolia. Not organized for 'tourists', these local events are put on by communities for their own amusement, but visitors are always welcome. 

HIGHLIGHTS: We make a tour itinerary based on your request and match festival schedule. 

- Ice Festival at lake Khovsgul - March 2-3, 2024 

- Golden Eagle Festival in capital city - March 09-10, 2024

- Camel Festival in Gobi -February 01-03, 2024

DETAILED ITINERARY - DAY BY DAY

Day 1 Fly to Murun

Day 2-3  Ice Festival Days 

March 2-3: Organized yearly on frozen Khuvsgul Lake by National Park rangers, local residents and businesses, the Ice Festival has been held five years running. A respite from the confinement of the winter months, the Ice Festival is a time to get outdoors and play games. Many traditional games are played on the sidelines, and this is an ideal venue for visitors to join in the fun and games with local people. The festival is held at Khar-Us on Khuvsgul Lake, a short drive north of Khatgal across the frozen lake ice.

Day 4 Ice Festival & back to UB

March 04: Khuvsgul Lake Ice Festival /Back to Ulaanbaatar

- Competition for car driving skill on the ice.
-  Wrestling competition on the ice
- Competition of short Skating marathon
- Horse sledge racing
- Closing ceremony and bon fire. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. (B/L/D)

 

Day 5 Eagle Festival

The Golden Eagle Festival starts with its parades and competitions for costuming and hunting techniques. This festival has been celebrated since 2000 and now attracts many travelers. Each year the number of eagle hunters participating in the festival is increasing which makes the festival more colorful and spectacular. The eagles chase fox skins dragged by their owners on horseback. Points are given for their speed and gripping ability. In 2 days you will capture plenty of portraits and competition photos, names Kokbar, Kizkhuar etc. 

Day 6-7 Camel Festival

March 6-7: We drive to Bulgan province, Dalanzadgad. We make decision based on your request afternoon of March 05 or Early morning of March 06. An exciting Camel Festival is organized between 6 and 8 March annually in the Gobi Desert of South Gobi province, Mongolia. The festival gives plenty of chances to see and enjoy camel polo, camel races, competitions among camel breeders, cultural performance and many more activities in closest distance. Travel to Mongolian Gobi Desert late winter or beginning of warm spring and enjoy one of the most worthy nomadic festivals of Mongolia.

Day 8 Yol Valley in Gobi Gurvan saikhan Mountain

March 08: After breakfast we drive to Yol valley and do short hiking to Yol valley. Also after that on the way we visit Muhar shivert "Icy waterfull" and then  drive to Dalanzadgad city. Relax and stay in Hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 9 Drive to UB city

March 09: After breakfast and drive to UB city, today we will drive 600km through asphalt road.  Have lunch on the way in town. On the way stopping taking photos. 

Day 10 Departure Day

Transfer to airport, if your flight time is not early can do city tour before leave UB.
